Time to quickly run this online before I simply “file” this again and it ends up in my folder of random restaurants. I’m really trying to give food posts equal priority with everything else. After all, food is a massive part of Manila living, or any sort of living really, which is the heart and soul of this journal. So far, I haven’t been very successful. Also, when I'm alone or with just Bamboo, I forget to take photos of my plate most of the time.
But behold, photos from delicious Kettle in Shangri-la Plaza Mall East Wing.
Do you every come across restaurants where you believe you can simply scry all the dish offerings and anything that pops up you’d be sure you’d still love? Whatever it is. This is just my second time in Kettle and it has now officially become one of my default restaurants for comfort food. They offer the best twists to simple all time favorites of mine – like pasta dishes or the salmon recipe.
I enjoyed both noodle dishes, the one on the side of (or, in this case, under) the miso-glazed salmon most of all, but the truffle gorgonzola wasn't so bad, too (but then again, it's me and I love everything that's at least some percent cheese). Everyone should try their salad selection. When in doubt, go for the recommended house salad. I didn't actually try enough of the chicken to say anything about it, not being much of a chicken fan. But I asked my table buddies of course and they enjoyed it and I think a chicken dish is always a safe meat choice to suit a table of more than two.
The dining setting is casual. I was with a few friends last weekend and, even though it was quite packed (and at 3PM at that!), we were comfortable the whole time. The food, oh the food... I’ll keep coming back for again and again.
Kettle is located at 5F Shangri-la Plaza Mall, East Wing, Shaw Blvd Wack Wack, Mandaluyong. For a complete list of Kettle's menu, you may check it out here on Munchpunch.
